Carpark North is a Danish synth rock / electro pop band consisting of Lau Højen (guitar, vocals), Søren Balsner (bass, synthesizer) and Morten Thorhauge (drums).
history
With their debut album, Carpark North (2003), they brought Danish electro pop to life. The album was very successful, sold over 50,000 copies in Denmark alone and achieved platinum status. The album was produced by Joshua, also known as Jon Schumann, who had already produced for Kashmir and Mew .
Their second album, All Things to All People , which the band released in 2005 after a long hiatus with no signs of life, was also very successful. In 2006 the band was named "Best Danish Video" at the Danish Music Awards for the video for their hit single Human , a rock up-tempo number . The video was directed by Martin de Turah . o Her third album, Grateful , was released in September 2008, but is currently not available in Germany.
In spring and summer 2010 the band played in the opening act for 30 Seconds to Mars , followed by appearances at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park.
On September 3, 2010, the new album Lost was released in Germany , which was compiled from songs by the two predecessors Grateful and All Things to All People . The song Just Human was released as a single, which is apparently a slightly modified new recording of the song Human , which was released as a single in 2005.
In 2015 they were on tour in Germany and Austria as the opening act for Sunrise Avenue and in autumn and winter 2015 they started their own tour of the current album Phoenix .
