Carrousel is a French - Swiss band. It was 2007 by Sophie Burande from the Auvergne and Léonard Gogniat from the Romandie founded. Singing in a duet is characteristic of Carrousel .
history
The musicians Sophie Burande (born April 11, 1981 in Vichy ) and Léonard Gogniat (born March 23, 1983 in Saignelégier ) met in 2007 in southern France . Both played the accordion in a market square in a small village. They started playing together and realized that they were on the same level musically and decided to start a project together. So they started with Carrousel, developed songs and performed in front of an audience. Since then, they have also been lovers. Since 2012 they have only focused on music and have given up their professions as teachers, Burande was a music and art teacher and Gogniat worked at a primary school. They draw their texts from everyday life and their environment. They work with other musicians on the tour.
In 2010 they released their debut album Tandem under the name Carrousel . In the same year they had an appearance at the Paléo Festival Nyon . In 2012 the second album En équilibre followed . With her single J'avais rendez-vous , Carrousel reached second place in the Swiss preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 . After a live album, the third studio album was released in 2014 with L'euphorie .
Carrousel was nominated twice for the Swiss Music Awards , as Best Act Romandie 2014 and Best Talent 2015.
