Carry On Laughing!

Carry on Laughing! is a 13-part British comedy series that was produced as an offshoot of the Carry-on… film series .

The 13 episodes are spread over 2 seasons. The series was produced in 1975 by Peter Rogers and Gerald Thomas for the British television station ATV .

The first season consists of six episodes, which were broadcast between January 4 and February 8, 1975 and parody historical material and novels. The individual episodes are The Prisoner of Spenda, The Baron Outlook, The Sobbing Cavalier, Orgy and Bess, One in the Eye for Harold and The Nine Old Cobblers.

The second season followed from October 26 to December 7, 1975 and consisted of seven episodes, with two episodes each dealing with the same topic in three cases. The season consists of the episodes Under the Round Table, The Case of the Screaming Winkles, And in My Lady's Chamber, Short Knight Long Daze, The Case of the Coughing Parrot, Who Needs Kitchener? and Lamp-Posts of the Empire.

The series draws on some of the main and supporting actors of the Carry on ... film series. The actors from the film series, among others, Jack Douglas (12 episodes), Kenneth Connor (12 episodes), Joan Sims (11 episodes), Peter Butterworth (8 episodes), Barbara Windsor (8 episodes), Bernard Bresslaw (5 episodes) ), Sidney James (4 episodes), Hattie Jacques (1 episode) and Patsy Rowlands (1 episode) appearances.

A German synchronization of the series does not yet exist. The series must not be confused with the compilation series Carry on laughing, which is almost of the same name .
