Peter Rogers

Peter Rogers (born February 20, 1914 in Rochester , Kent , † April 14, 2009 in Buckinghamshire ) was a British film producer .

Life

Rogers initially worked as a journalist; after his discharge from the army due to illness, he was hired as a gag writer for J. Arthur Rank Productions in 1942 . Soon he was producing the projects he was in charge of himself. He became known for the carry-on… film series , which since the first film, head up, chest out! (1958) includes thirty other films. Before that he had v. a. Comedies produced. After the wave of success died down, he worked on best-of compilations for television, but went bankrupt in 1994.

From 1958 to 1959 he worked as an executive producer on the television series Ivanhoe .

In addition to his work as a producer, Rogers wrote several novels; he was married to his colleague Betty Box .
