It's crazy - no water flows in the desert is the 14th film from the carry-on… film series .

content

The English high society is outraged: Bertram Oliphant West is said to have played unfairly in cricket . An English gentleman cannot bear this shame . So West went to the French Foreign Legion, accompanied by his loyal servant Simpson .

There he meets the German commander Burger, his incompetent deputy Captain Le Pice and the determined Sergeant Nocker. To make matters worse, there is also Lady Jane Ponsonby, who wants to bring back her future husband West, who is now being courted by the legionnaire lover Zig Zig.

But first you have to fight off Sheikh Abduls and his Arab fighters.

Remarks

It's crazy - no water flows in the desert is a parody of adventure films set in the Foreign Legion , especially adaptations of Percival Christopher Wren's novel Three Foreign Legionaries , which has been filmed several times before. As a replacement for Sidney James was Phil Silvers hired by even relatively large opportunities in the US market hoped for on the part of producers. In addition, the addition Carry on in the international film title was omitted for the second and last time . So the film is just called Follow That Camel there .

One also had problems with another “guest star”: the camel that can be seen in the film had never seen a desert before and could not walk on loose sand, so that one had to use a solid surface. The desert wasn't a real one either, just a kind of big sandpit. The camel also bit Jim Dale 's leg. Julian Holloway , who appeared in eight films in the series, makes his carry-on debut in this film .

synchronization

The German dubbing was created in 1987 on behalf of ZDF and directed by Edgar Ott . The dialogue book comes from Gerda von Rüxleben .

Reviews

"Turbulent comedy with a few swipes at national behavior and mentality, but also a lot of handles in the usual clothes box of the series."
