Bless This House (Original title Bless this house ) is not a regular movie from the Carry-On film series , but has the most characteristic features of the series. There is also a television series of the same name on which the film is based.

action

Sid Abbot is a troubled family man. Not enough with the job and the normal marital problems he has to go through with his wife. Not enough with his work-shy son Mike, who prefers to think of girls and protesting, and his pubescent daughter Sally, who hovers in a different spiritual sphere. Not enough with neighbors Trevor and Betty Lewis and trying to distill black whiskey in the gazebo. Now new neighbors are also moving in. And the Baines couple is particularly annoying in their arrogance. A guerrilla war breaks out, which is reinforced by all sorts of subplots and ends in a grand finale.

Remarks

This film is based on the television series of the same name that has been broadcast for a year . Most of the cast and crew of the carry-on films are busy here in front of and behind the camera. Gerald Thomas directed, Peter Rogers produced the film, Eric Rogers wrote the music, Alan Hume was the cameraman, and Alfred Roome was in charge of editing . The buildings, costumes, make-up, production management and sound were also contributed by the usual crew.

A large number of the leading actors are also among the regular cast of the Carry-On series or at least played in several of the films in larger roles: Sidney James , Sally Geeson , Peter Butterworth , Terry Scott , June Whitfield , Patsy Rowlands , Bill Maynard , Marianne Stone and Julian Orchard . Unlike in the series, son Mike Abbot is not played by Robin Stewart , but by Robin Askwith, while neighbor Trevor Lewis is not played by Anthony Jackson but by Terry Scott.
