Carry on , Emmanuelle (also spelled Carry on Emmanuelle ) is the twenty-ninth film in the series of carry-on… films .

content

Emmannuelle Prevert is the wife of Emile Prevert, the French ambassador to London . She is an attractive woman, only her husband does not seem to notice and is only busy with other things. She is such a passionate woman who longs for love and sex . If her husband doesn't want it, other men have to answer and so she sleeps through half of London, up to the beds of the British Prime Minister and the US Ambassador. This, of course, causes various complications, especially after a disappointed lover passed the press a list of all of their conquests.

Appreciation

As you can see from the title, this film was supposed to parody sex and erotic films in general and the Emmanuelle films in particular . In order to avoid possible recourse claims due to copyright infringements , those responsible simply wrote an n more in Emmannuelle .

The shooting of this film lasted barely more than a month, so it was the shortest shooting all parts of the series. According to critics, you can see that in the film. Above all, the few remaining 'old hands' in the series would seem tired and you can tell that almost 20 years had passed since the first carry-on… film. For Joan Sims , Peter Butterworth , Kenneth Connor and Kenneth Williams it was the last appearance in a film in the series. It was also the last appearance for Victor Maddern , who made his first appearance in 14 years since Is Yes Crazy - Caesar Loves Cleopatra . Barbara Windsor was actually planned as well. But their planned role in the dream sequence played after Windsor's cancellation Claire Davenport .

The critics were divided on the film like rarely. For many the film was just one of many sex comedies, for others it was a successful satire on just that. In his best spots, mostly thanks to leading actress Suzanne Danielle , he's also relatively good and an immense improvement over his predecessors. However, it should take until 1992 for the next and so far last part of the series to appear: Do it again, Columbus .

Reviews

  • “With this attempt to parody the soft porn of the“ Emmanuelle ”series, the“ Carry On ”series has hit rock bottom; the level of humor is no higher than the target object envisaged. ” -“ Lexicon of international film ”(CD-ROM edition), Systhema, Munich 1997
