Head up, chest out! is the first film in the series of carry-on… films.
content
Sergeant Grimshaw want a success in pension go. The problem with this, however, is that his new recruits are stupidly old recruits. He is assigned conscripts who have already passed their actual zenith of performance. Of course, this group stumbles from one mishap to the next. When Grimshaw was already anticipating a catastrophe, his recruits showed the best performance of all departments at the end of their training and gave their sergeant a pleasant exit.
Remarks
With the first film in the series, it was not yet clear that 29 more films would follow in the end. On the one hand, the characters were not yet worked out in the way they were later, so that one knew immediately which actor was playing which role. On the other hand, not all the main actors are on board yet, but Kenneth Williams, Kenneth Connor, Hattie Jacques and Charles Hawtrey are already in the first part. Also some of the recurring actors from the second row (Eric Barker, Bill Owen, Terence Longdon, Norman Rossington, Cyril Chamberlain, Frank Forsyth, Anthony Sagar, Terry Scott and Ed Devereaux), while the actual lead role is comedian Bob Monkhouse (As the Pictures learned to walk) , which did not appear in any other film in the series. In the end, the result was a piece of clothing without depth, but the way it was made doesn't hurt anyone. The typical carry on… style developed from the second film in the series, 41 degrees love .
