Carsten Pagel

Carsten Gerhard Pagel (born September 1, 1962 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer and former journalist ( Junge Freiheit ) and politician ( CDU , REP ).

Life

Pagel attended the Schiller High School in Berlin-Charlottenburg until 1980 . After graduating from high school, he studied law at the Free University of Berlin . In 1987 he passed his first state examination and in 1990 his second state examination. He has been working as a lawyer in Berlin since 1990; admitted to the higher regional court of the state of Berlin.

As early as 1983 he wrote a positive article about the former Stuka pilot Hans-Ulrich Rudel in the school newspaper. He was initially a member of the Junge Union (JU) until 1987 , where he was chairman of the JU in Berlin-Tiergarten . From 1985 to 1989 he was a first for the CDU of the district council in Berlin-Tiergarten on. A party expulsion procedure was finally initiated against him because of an incident at the annual general meeting of the JU Berlin in 1987. He switched to the Republicans (REP).

From 1989 to 1991 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives for Die Republikaner Berlin , whose state chairman he was from 1990 to 1991 . He chaired the building committee in the House of Representatives and was a member of the legal committee. He also became a member of the federal executive committee. In 1991 he became chairman of the far-right Hoffmann-von-Fallersleben Bildungswerk , and from 1992 he was chairman of the board of trustees. In 1992 he resigned from the Republican party. In 1992 he transferred the REP newspaper Berliner Nachrichten to Junge Freiheit , where he was the editor in charge of the Berlin section until 1993.

In 1992 he was one of those attacked in a politically motivated attack in Berlin, in which Gerhard Kaindl , state secretary of the German League for People and Homeland , was killed by left-wing extremists.
