Cartoon is a magazine show moderated by Loriot for Süddeutscher Rundfunk , which was broadcast on German television from 1967 to 1972 .

Loriot presented international cartoons in this program. Among other things, he received well-known caricaturists on a red sofa that was to become his trademark (in the Loriot series, produced for Radio Bremen from 1976 , a green sofa serves as a seat for Loriot and (later) Evelyn Hamann ). In the later programs, more and more skits by and with Loriot were shown, some of which are repeated to this day, for example Der Astronaut , Der Kunstpfeifer , Auf der Rennbahn (sound by Wilhelm Bendow ), Deutsch für Ausländer , Der Familienbenutzer andAdvent .

In addition to Loriot, the regular contributors included Alexander Störk ( Mr. Störk ), Heinz Meier , Roswitha Roszak and Heiner Schmidt .

Loriot received an honorable mention for this program in 1968 at the Adolf Grimme Prize and in 1973 the Adolf Grimme Prize with silver.

In October 2007, the animated films and presentations made by Loriot himself were published on the DVD box Loriot - The Complete Television Edition.
