Casablanca West

Casablanca West was a 1979 by Neil Bogart and Snuff Garrett in Nashville , Tennessee , founded American sub-label of Casablanca Records & Filmworks , the Country - Artists should take under contract and market.

Short-lived label

Despite the already tight financial situation of Casablanca Records , Casablanca West was launched. The label released the album Sexy Songs in 1979 as well as the singles This Must be my Ship and Sexy Song by Carol Chase, produced by Snuff Garrett - these are the only comprehensible releases of the record company.

The label of the single showed the well-known Casablanca logo with the kasbah , the lettering was only supplemented by the word "West". In the advertisement for the single This Must be my Ship , the foreground of the stylized film set on the right-hand side was supplemented by a backdrop that showed the front of a typical western building, in front of which two cowboys could be seen. At least the promo single This Must be my Ship also shows the picture from the ad. Outside the United States, however, the Casablanca West publications appeared under the Casablanca Record & FilmWorks logo.
