Casimir Gaillardin

Claude Joseph Casimir Gaillardin (born September 7, 1810 in Doullens , † December 29, 1880 in Paris ) was a French historian .

Among other things, he dealt with the history of the Trappist Order and wrote a three-volume history of the Middle Ages ( Histoire du moyen-âge , 1837–1843). His six-volume history of the reign of Louis XIV ( Histoire du règne de Louis XIV , 1871–1879) was awarded a prize by the Académie française .
