Cassie Taylor (* 1986 in Boulder (Colorado) ) is an American singer-songwriter , blues musician and music producer who also works as a model and fashion designer .

biography

Cassie Taylor is the elder of two daughters of the blues musician Otis Taylor , through whom she came into contact with blues music as a child and who taught her to play the piano. She started playing the electric bass when she was about 12 years old . At 16 she accompanied her father as a bassist in his touring band. Over time, she also took on vocal parts and keyboard instruments. Cassie Taylor can be heard on several of her father's albums.

In 2009 she left her father's band to make her own recordings. When the desired success did not materialize, she turned to fashion design and worked as a model. She later started her own fashion company, Moorhead Apparel.

In 2010 Cassie Taylor returned to her music project and recorded her first album Blue , which was released in 2011. At the same time she recorded the album Girls With Guitars with Dani Wilde and Samantha Fish and went on tour with them.

In 2012, Taylor started working on her second album, Out Of My Mind . She wrote, produced and sang all the pieces, played electric bass and keyboard instruments as well as the theremin . Additional musicians were Larry Thompson (drums), Steve Mignano (guitar) and Jon Gray (trumpet). The album was released in 2013 and was well received.
