Otis Taylor

Otis Taylor (* thirtieth July 1948 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American Blues - musicians of African-American descent. The multi-instrumentalist sings and plays guitar , banjo , mandolin and harmonica .

Life

Otis Taylor moved to Denver , Colorado at a young age , where he grew up. Taylor played music professionally in both Europe and the US in a number of blues bands . In 1977 he left the music industry to pursue other professional goals, including working as an antiques dealer. He returned to music in 1995 and has since released numerous albums with various record labels .

To date (July 2008) Taylor has been nominated eleven times for the Blues Music Award ; his 2001 album White African was named "Best Debut".

His song Nasty Letter from the album Truth Is Not Fiction (released in 2003) can be heard on the soundtrack of the film Shooter .

His songs Ten Million Slaves and Nasty Letter can be heard on the soundtrack of the feature film Public Enemies .

Taylor appeared in support of Gary Moore's 2007 autumn tour of the United Kingdom and also accompanied him on his tour of Germany in March 2008.
