The Castillo de Berlanga de Duero is a castle in Berlanga de Duero that was built in the Middle Ages . The castle is located in the Spanish province of Soria in the autonomous region of Castile and León . The castle, on an elongated ridge, is a protected architectural monument ( Bien de Interés Cultural ).

History and description

The castle on the edge of a deep ravine secured the traffic routes on the Duero of the Kingdom of Castile . The oldest part of the complex goes back to an Arab fortress . The square palace castle still preserved today dates from the 16th century. It is reinforced with round corner towers and has loopholes for artillery .
