The Cat River is a river in the Kenora District in the northwest of the Canadian province of Ontario .
The Cat River rises northeast of Whitestone Lake . It initially flows west to Whitestone Lake, which it flows through in a south direction. It then flows through a chain of lakes towards the south. The largest are: Cat Lake , Kapikik Lake, Zionz Lake, Fawcett Lake, and Barnaji Lake . It finally reaches the north shore of Lake St. Joseph after a distance of about 200 km , into which it flows with two river arms, the East Channel and the West Channel . The Cat River is the main source of the Albany River . Lake St. Joseph is drained through this.
