Catharina is an impact crater on the front of the moon west of Mare Nectaris , west of Beaumont crater and south of Cyrillus . The crater is heavily eroded and the edge of the crater often superimposed, particularly in the large craters Catharina P .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after Saint Catherine of Alexandria .
