Catharina Fleckenstein

Catharina Fleckenstein (* 1968 in Munich ) is a German actress and theater director .

Life

Catharina Fleckenstein comes from a family of artists. From 1987 to 1990 she went through a private acting training (acting lessons and role studies) with Maya Speth in Munich and took lessons in body and movement training with Marga Rues in Munich. At the same time she studied theater studies , modern German literature and art history at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , which she gave up in favor of her theater work.

After her training her first permanent engagements at the theater followed, first at the ETA Hoffmann Theater in Bamberg (1990–1992), then at the Theater Dortmund (1992–1994). From 1994 to 1998 she worked mainly as a theater director and realized productions a. a. at the Landesbühne Hannover , at Kampnagel , at the ETA Hoffmann Theater, at the Altonaer Theater and at the Theater Dortmund. She also taught at the State Theater School ( Statens Teaterskole ) in Copenhagen and at the Østfold University in Fredrikstad (Norway).

Catharina Fleckenstein has been working as a freelance actress and director since 1998. Since the beginning of 2000, the focus of her artistic activity has again been on acting. She worked in various independent theater productions and in theater projects in Hamburg, a. a. with the “Hamburg Art Ensemble”, with the “Hamburger Spellwerk” and in productions at the Theater am Biedermannplatz . In 2015/16 she played "Die Frau" in Falk Richter's In a State of Emergency in a production in the series "Wortgefechte" at the "Hamburger Sprachwerk". In 2017/18 she appeared in Hamburg in Weichgewicht , a theater performance / installation by the independent ensemble “kkreis kollektiv?”.

In addition to her theater work, Catharina Fleckenstein took part in various film and television productions, including the TV series Lindenstrasse , Die Rettungsflieger and Die Pfefferkörner . In the 4th season of the ZDF crime series SOKO Wismar (2008) she had a leading role in the episode as a museum employee and suspect lover of the museum director.

Catharina Fleckenstein moved to Hamburg in 1997, where she has lived since then. She is a follower of the spiritual healing art of Reiki .
