Catherine Rouvel

Catherine Rouvel (* 31 August 1939 in Marseille as Catherine Vitale ) is a French actress .

Life

She began her training in Marseille, in 1956 she went to Paris, where she attended the Center d'art dramatique de la rue Blanche. In 1958 she married her father's childhood friend, Georges Rouveyre, with whom she had a child.

In 1959 Jean Renoir wrote film history again with his late work Das Breakfast im Grünen , named after the painting of the same name by Édouard Manet . The film was shot on the property of his father Pierre-Auguste Renoir in Provence . He cast Catherine Rouvel in the role of Nénette, the cheerful, sensual southern French woman from the country. It wasn't the main role, but it was a key role. Their interpretation brought the young actress her breakthrough. As a result, she was always present in film, television and at the theater.

In 1997 Alain Desvignes published her biography under the title Catherine Rouvel: 40 ans de cinéma, de théâtre et de télévision .
