Cathy Shim

Cathy Shim (born July 18, 1980 in Seoul , South Korea ) is an American actress of South Korean descent.

Life and accomplishments

Cathy Shim's family moved to the United States when she was three years old. She studied piano at the Colburn School of Performing Arts and the University of Southern California ; She also completed a medical degree and studied acting at the USC School of Theater .

Shim made her television debut in 2003 on the comedy show Reno 911! in which she has been involved since then. In the short film A Cigar at the Beach (2006), which received several festival prizes, she took on one of the leading roles. The sports drama The Gymnast (2006), in which she appeared in a small role, she co-produced. In the based on the show Reno 911! The resulting crime comedy Reno 911 !: Miami (2007) with Danny DeVito played the woman Deputy Travis Junior ( Robert Ben Garant ) dreams of. In the action comedy Balls of Fury (2007) starring Christopher Walken and Maggie Q , she played a North Korean diplomat. In 2012 she had a small role as an Asian housewife in The Watch - Neighbors of the 3rd Kind .
