history
The airline was founded in 2001 as Silk Route Airways . 60% of the company shares belonged to the Georgian company Samgori-94 . Investors included Pacific International Holding ($ 4.6 million) and Lockheed-Martin ($ 1 million). The original name had to be changed for legal reasons.
Flight operations began in November 2002. Destinations in Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia were served . In 2004 the company ceased operations.
The company ran regular scheduled flights between Tbilisi and Baku , Tbilisi and Yerevan, and Tbilisi and Batumi . She was left with routes that were initially only available to Georgian Airways . Their target group were business people and skilled workers who commute between the economic centers of the southern Caucasus .
