Cavallette is an Italian animated short film directed by Bruno Bozzetto that premiered on March 6, 1990.
action
The film followed the conflicts and wars since the dawn of mankind. The Stone Age people killed each other in order to be able to enjoy the fire alone, in Egypt people killed themselves because one believed in something different from the other. In the following epochs, too, armed conflicts increasingly developed into religious wars, while in modern times people killed more for political motivation or in the name of certain organizations. In the end, the dead of the conflict always become skeletons and grass grows over them. In turn, two grasshoppers mate in the grass.
Awards
At the Ottawa International Animation Festival in 1990 Bozzetto received the jury's special prize.
Cavallette was nominated in 1991 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ", but could not prevail against Creature Comforts .
