Ceal Floyer

Ceal Floyer (* 1968 in Karachi ) is a Pakistani-German conceptual artist who lives and works in Berlin.

Life

Floyer studied from 1990 in London at the School of Art and Design and then from 1991 to 1994 at Goldsmiths, University of London . In 1997, a Phillip Morris grant enabled her to stay at Künstlerhaus Bethanien .

She often works with projections , objects , sound or performance . The work Light Switch (1992) is a projector that projects a slide with a photograph of an ordinary light switch onto the wall next to a door. Bucket 1999, Til I get it right (2005), is a sound work based on the song of the same name by Tammy Wynette .
