Cecilia Roxana Tait Villacorta (born May 2, 1962 in Lima ) is a Peruvian national volleyball player and politician .
Volleyball career
Tait took part in the Olympic Games three times in a row with the Peruvian national team (1980, 1984 and 1988) and won the silver medal in 1988 in Seoul . She also finished second at the 1982 World Championships in her home country and third in 1986 in Czechoslovakia .
At the club level, Tait started at Deportivo Bancoper Lima. Later on, the left-hander played abroad with Ito Yokado in Tokyo and in Italy with ISA Infissi Fano and Pallavolo Reggio Calabria , with whom she won the European club competitions after two second places in the European Cup Winners ' Cup in 1987 and in the CEV Cup in 1989 Won the CEV Cup. Tait then spent three years in Brazil at Sadia Esporte Club São Paulo , during which time he won the Brazilian and South American titles twice, and the Club World Cup in 1991 . In the 1992/93 season she played for German Bundesliga club SV Lohhof .
Tait has received several awards as “Most Valuable Player” ( MVP ), “Best Attacker” etc. In 2005 she was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame .

Tait became involved in politics from 1998 and was a Peruvian Congressman from 2000 to 2016 .
Private
Tait has been married twice and has a daughter from both relationships. In 2010 she overcame breast cancer .
