Cecilio de los Santos (born February 12, 1965 in Rivera ) is a former Uruguayan football player on the position of defender .

career

De los Santos began his professional career with his "hometown club" Frontera Rivera Chico and moved to the first division club Bella Vista in 1984 , where he was under contract until 1988.

He then moved to the Mexican league and won the championship title and the Supercup with Club America in the 1988/89 season and the CONCACAF Champions' Cup twice and the Copa Interamericana in 1991 in the next three years .

During his time with the Americanistas, De los Santos also made the leap to the Uruguayan national soccer team , for which he made nine international appearances between 1991 and 1993.

After leaving America in the summer of 1994, he played for the Mexican clubs UANL Tigres and Puebla FC before ending his active career in the service of Nacional Montevideo .
