The Cedar River ( English for " cedar -flow") is a left tributary of the English River in Kenora District in the southwest of the Canadian province of Ontario .

The Cedar River forms the outflow of Cedar Lake . It flows mainly in a northerly direction. It flows through Perrault Lake , into which the Ord River also flows. It passes the rapids of the same name at Perrault Falls and then flows through Wabaskang Lake to the north . Below this it takes the Anishinabi River from the left. After a distance of approximately 75 km, the Cedar River meets the west-flowing English River 3 miles east of Manitou Falls . At the gauge below Wabaskang Lake and below the confluence of the Anishinabi River, the mean discharge is 10.7 m³ / s. The catchment area of the Cedar River covers approximately 1700 km².
