biography

The niece of world champion Martin Hangl competed in FIS races for the first time in December 2004 . A month later, the first use in the European Cup took place . At the Junior World Championships in 2006 she was tenth in slalom, at the Junior World Championships in 2007 sixth, and at the Junior World Championships in 2008 she won the silver medal. During the 2006/07 European Cup season , she won two races and thus achieved second place in the slalom classification and sixth place in the overall classification.

On December 29, 2006, Hangl competed in a World Cup slalom for the first time in Semmering . She won her first World Cup points on December 9, 2007 when she reached 13th place in the slalom in Aspen . So far this is her best result. In September 2008 Hangl suffered in the summer training camp in New Zealand a broken leg , so she missed the entire 2008-09 season. In the 2009/10 season she competed in four World Cup races, but was never able to qualify for the second round.

After a cautious start to the season, Hangl finished 17th in the Zwiesel slalom on February 4, 2011, and with it, won World Cup points again after almost three years. On October 13, 2011, Hangl suffered another serious injury: In the internal eliminations for the 2011/12 World Cup opener in Saas Fee , she tore a cruciate ligament in her right knee, which is why she had to take a full season off again.

On July 16, 2013, the athlete announced her retirement from competitive sports.
