The Center sportif de Colovray is a sports center in the Swiss municipality of Nyon . It is the home ground of the Stade Nyonnais , which plays in the Promotion League , and the rugby union team of RC Nyon , which has been Swiss champions three times (1996, 2005, 2008).
The Center sportif de Colovray consists of the Stade de Colovray, a football stadium with an athletics facility with 7,200 seats, including 860 seats, as well as three natural and one artificial turf . The headquarters of the European football association UEFA is in the immediate vicinity of the sports complex on the shores of Lake Geneva .
The highest number of spectators was recorded on July 29, 2001, when 6,800 spectators followed the match between Stade Nyonnais and Real Madrid . The 2004 U-19 European Football Championship final was played in the stadium . From 2008 to 2013 the finals for the U-17 European Women's Football Championship took place in the Center sportif .
During the European Football Championship in 2008 , the Turkish national team trained at the Center sportif.
Every spring, the Stade Nyonnais venue hosts the semi-finals and the final of the UEFA Youth League , which started its first season in 2013/14 .
In the 2019/20 season , the Center sportif de Colovray is the home stadium of FC Stade Lausanne-Ouchy , whose actual home ground is insufficient for the Challenge League .
