The LIPO Park Schaffhausen is a football stadium with peripheral uses in the industrial area Herblingen the Swiss city of Schaffhausen in the canton of Schaffhausen . It is the home of the FC Schaffhausen football club . The stadium opened at the beginning of January 2017 and replaced the previous width stadium . The namesake and main tenant of the attached small shopping center is the Swiss furniture chain LIPO Einrichtungsmärkte .

history

Almost 25 years of planning history ended with the opening of the LIPO Park in early 2017. The stadium on the Schaffhausen “Breite”, which was inaugurated in 1950, has not met the standards required by the Swiss Football League in terms of infrastructure since the 1990s. For this reason, FC Schaffhausen has been playing with a provisional permit since 1992. Various political initiatives for a new building did not lead to any concrete result. That is why the long-time president of FC Schaffhausen, Aniello Fontana , took the initiative to build a new stadium with a jacket. On May 11, 2006, a purchase agreement for 33,000 m 2 of land was notarized with Georg Fischer Immobilien AG . Only the subsequent rezoning from the industrial to the commercial zone created the prerequisites for tackling the planning of a stadium with shell usage. The project, which originally cost over CHF 160 million, had to be resized several times. In March 2015, the Schaffhausen electorate rejected a contribution of two million francs. The construction should be financed without public funds, whereby the costs should amount to a good CHF 50 million . Of this, 16 million francs will go to the stadium and 34 million francs to the shell construction. After more than two years of planning, construction began on August 28, 2015 with the groundbreaking ceremony for the LIPO Park. Ultimately, the construction cost around 60 million francs.

On February 25, 2017, FC Schaffhausen played their first official game against FC Winterthur in the new LIPO Park. The FCS won 2-1 in front of 7,727 spectators. Striker Shkelqim Demhasaj scored the first goal.

In October 2017, the stadium received the Swiss Solar Prize in the new buildings category. The area of the system on the stadium roof is 19 percent larger than the pitch. It generates 1,290,000 kWh and covers 150 percent of the total energy requirement. With the energy surplus, 300 electric cars could each drive around 12,000 km.

Location and transport links

The stadium is located in the Herblingertal industrial area, directly at the Schaffhausen-Herblingen stop of the Schaffhausen S-Bahn and the Schaffhausen-Herblingen exit with direct connections to the Swiss ( A4 to Winterthur ) and German motorway networks ( E41 to Singen ). The stadium itself has 300 parking spaces. Additional parking spaces are available around the stadium during the match.

Key data

The construction of the stadium including the outer surface cost around 60 million Swiss francs. The project was financed by two independent builders: the stadium by Fontana Invest, the specialist market and service areas by the general contractor Methabau, who also completed the project in a construction period of 18 months. The plot size is 33,000 m 2 and the construction volume is 81,000 m 3 . The usable area is 13,000 m 2

General information

Stadium capacity

The new football stadium LIPO Park Schaffhausen offers a little more than 8,000 seats, divided into 4 sectors. It meets all the requirements that the Swiss Football League places on stadiums in which games of the Challenge and Super League are played. At a later point in time, UEFA eligibility will also be sought.

artificial grass

The stadium is equipped with a heated artificial turf and meets the requirements of FIFA. The heating means that longer games can be played in the winter season.

Coat usage

The shell use consists of specialist market and service areas. LIPO Einrichtungsmärkte AG acts as the anchor tenant for around 5,500 square meters of rental space. There are additional sales, office and catering areas on the ground and first floors. A terrace with around 1,000 m² of usable space extends along the entire front building. The air-conditioned single boxes are located on the 2nd floor.

Events

The stadium is multi-purpose and is also suitable for events outside of football. The city of Schaffhausen has currently approved twelve major events with over 20,000 visitors per year. The multi-purpose Munot Hall on the second floor offers around 700 square meters of space for up to 600 people. It is the largest hall in the city of Schaffhausen that can be rented for business or private events.

Photovoltaic system

Roof with photovoltaic system

With an area of 8,100 m 2 , the stadium has the largest in-roof photovoltaic system in Switzerland. Their output is 1.4 MWp. With optimal solar irradiation, the system produces around three times the amount of electricity required by the LIPO Park. The surplus is fed into the public power grid.
