Stade Nyonnais is a Swiss football club from the city ​​of Nyon in the canton of Vaud , located directly on Lake Geneva . He currently plays in the third highest Swiss division, the Promotion League .

history

Stade Nyonnais was founded in 1905 and took part in the Swiss championship for the first time in 1918. Since then, Nyon has mostly played in the third or fourth highest league.

The 2007/08 season ended Stade Nyonnais in Group 1 of the first division , the third-highest league in Switzerland at the time, with 75 points from 32 games as the first in the table. In this case could FC Rapperswil in the qualifying round with 3: 4 (A) or 2: 1 (H) are subdued. On June 1, 2008 Nyonnais also won the promotion round against GC Biaschesi and rose to the second-rate Challenge League .
