The 2011/12 Challenge League was the 115th season of the second-highest Swiss division in men's football. It started on July 22, 2011 and ended on May 23, 2012.
16 teams took part in the Challenge League, two teams each met twice. In the transition phase to the 2012/13 season, when only ten clubs were admitted to the Challenge League, five teams relegated to the newly created league 1. League Promotion .
