Džengis Čavušević (born November 26, 1987 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian football player .

Career

Džengis Čavušević began his career at NK Šmartno , where he also went through the youth department. On the 2003/04 season he moved to ND Slovan Ljubljana . About three years later he switched to NK Domžale , where he was loaned to NK Bela krajina for the following season after a few missions in his first season . After his return to Domžale, Čavušević came increasingly to missions and also scored his first goals as a professional footballer.

During the winter break of the 2009/10 season, FC Wil signed him . In the Challenge League he scored 32 goals in 64 games for Wiler. For the 2012/13 season he switched to the newly promoted FC St. Gallen , for whom he scored four goals in his first six games. Cavusevic then received his first nomination for the Slovenian national team and played his first international match against Albania .

A short time later, Čavušević suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and was out for over half a year. Towards the end of the season he came back to a few partial assignments. Shortly after the start of the new season, Čavušević tore his cruciate ligament again during a mission with the U21 team. It was only after nine months that he was able to play again in mid-2014.

In July 2016, he signed a contract with former league rivals FC Zurich . In December 2017, the contract was terminated by mutual agreement. In February 2018 he moved to Australia for Adelaide United .
