David Fiegen
David Fiegen (born September 3, 1984 in Esch-sur-Alzette ) is a Luxembourgish middle-distance runner .
Already in the junior division, the 800 meter runner drew attention to himself as third at the Junior World Championships in 2002 and second at the Junior European Championships in 2003. In 2002 he was voted Luxembourg Sportsman of the Year for this. At the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis and at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was eliminated in the preliminary stages.
In 2006 he had his greatest success to date. At the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg he won silver behind Bram Som (NED). This was the first ever Luxembourg European Championship medal in athletics.
He was the only Luxembourg athlete to be nominated for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, but had to cancel at short notice due to a virus infection.
David Fiegen is 1.87 m tall and weighs 73 kg.
