Centurion Air Cargo (originally Challenge Air Cargo ) was an American cargo airline based at Miami International Airport , Florida .

history

The airline was founded in 1985 under the name Challenge Air Cargo and began flight operations with two Boeing 707-300Cs and two Douglas DC-8-63Fs each . In the meantime, machines of the types DC-8-73F, Douglas DC-10-30F (11 pieces) and Boeing 757-200PF were also used.

In the fall of 2014, the entire fleet was on the ground due to a legal dispute over unpaid fuel bills, but operations were resumed with three MD-11s at the end of December.

In November 2015, a Boeing 747, registered with Centurion but possibly operated by Sky Lease Cargo, was seized by a court in Brazil.

On August 23, 2018, the airline finally ceased flight operations.
