Century was a French rock band formed in Marseille in 1985 .
Career
The songs on the 1986 debut album … And Soul It Goes were written by John Milford, John Wesley and Paul Ives. The pre-release Lover Why became the group's biggest hit . The single reached number 1 in the French charts in the summer of 1985 , rose to number 11 on the Swiss charts at the end of the year and reached number 32 in Germany at the beginning of 1986 . With Jane , the band had their second and last hit at home in 1986 (number 35). Century sold over ten million records worldwide . The group split in 1989.
