Kurt Hermann Frickel

Kurt Hermann Frickel (born March 22, 1939 ; † March 2, 2011 in Niederwerrn ) was a German teacher, genealogist and Bach researcher.

Career

Frickel was a specialist teacher at the Dr. Georg Schäfer School in Schweinfurt. In 1985, in the year of his 300th birthday, he began genealogical research on the German composer Johann Sebastian Bach . After retiring in 1994, he devoted almost all of his free time to researching his life and family . He published his work in several books and lectures. Together with his wife, he made a special contribution to the family's ancestral home in Wechmar . He did not live to see the publication of his life's work, a double-volume Bach family lexicon , planned for 2011 .
