The Cerro Castillo ( Spanish for Castle Mountain ; in Argentina Cerro San Miguel ) is a mountain on Eagle Island in the Prince Gustav Canal south of the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises southwest of Scree Peak in the center of the northern part of the island.
Chilean scientists named him after squadron leader Alamiro Castillo Ayala of the Chilean Air Force , participant in the 25th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1970-1971). The namesake of the Argentine name has not been passed down.
