The Cerro San Cristóbal is a hill in the Bellavista district of Santiago de Chile .

The hill rises to 880  m and around 300 m above its base area and dominates the cityscape of Santiago. Its old name was Tupawe , it was renamed by the Spanish conquerors after Saint Christopher .

The summit is a popular destination that can be reached on foot, by car on a toll road , by cable car, or by funicular . From the summit you have a good view of the different parts of Santiago. At the top there is a church , an amphitheater and a 22 m high statue of the Virgin Mary . Pope John Paul II held a mass there in 1987.

At the foot of the mountain is the Santiago Zoo .
