Cezar Drăgăniță

Cezar Drăgăniță (born February 13, 1954 in Arad ) is a former Romanian handball player . He played in the right winger position and in the right backcourt.

Drăgăniță began playing handball at a school in Bucharest and moved to Steaua Bucharest at the age of 17 . With the club from the capital, he was Romanian champion fifteen times and cup winner three times. In 1977 he won the European Cup with Steaua . In 1990/91 he played for Benfica Lisbon . Later he was a player and also a coach in Belgium.

For the Romanian national team , Drăgăniță played 184 international matches, in which he scored 437 goals. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal he won silver with Romania and bronze at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. In addition, Drăgăniță was at the World Championships in 1978 , 1982 and 1986 part of the Romanian team, which was seventh, fifth and ninth.
