Chadid

Chadid (חָדִיד also חדיד) is established in 1950 moshav in RV Chevel Modi'in in central district of Israel. In 2018 there were 887 people in Khadid. The moshav is located near the ancient settlement hill Tel Chadid (תל-חָדִיד), where the biblical Chadid is believed.

history

Chadid is mentioned in the Bible as an ancient settlement of the tribe of Benjamin ( Book Ezra 2/33 and Book Nehemia 11/34). In 2008, Chagit Torge (חגית טורגה), archaeologist from the Bar-Ilan University and the Israeli Antiquities Administration , carried out excavations in Tel Chadid (תל-חָדִיד).
