Chaim Druckman

Chaim Druckman ( Hebrew חיים דרוקמן, also Haim Druckman ; * November 15, 1932 in Kuty ) is an Israeli Orthodox rabbi , politician and former Knesset member of the National Religious Party ( Mafdal ).

As a child he joined the Yiddish-language school Evsektsia יֶבְסֶקְצְיָהcleverly. After the Nazis occupied the country , he and his parents hid in his uncle's house in a small, non-Jewish town. Then his parents fled with him to Chernivtsi . They ended up in an orphanage, where the parents received visas for their son for Palestine and sent them on a child transport . So he came to Palestine as part of the Aliyah in 1944. He studied at the Alija Institute in Petach Tikwa , then at the Bne Akiwa Yeshiva in Kfar Haroeh (כְּפַר הָרֹאֶ"ה). He then attended the Merkas HaRaw Kook Yeshiva in Jerusalem , where he became a student of Zwi Jehuda Kook . He also served in the Israel Defense Forces at Bnei Akiva Gar'in (גרעין) in the post . In 1952 he became a member of the National Directorate of Bne Akiwa and represented this organization from 1955 to 1956 in the United States . He was appointed Deputy Minister for Religious Services on August 11, 1981 . He held this office until March 2, 1982. Today he works as Rosh Yeshiva ראש ישיבהthe yeshivat or Ezion יְשִׁיבת אוֹר עֵץיון, as head of the youth movement of Bne Akiwa and yeshivot of Bne Akiwa. He was one of the founders of Gush Emunim .
