Khaliji (music)

Chaliji ( Arabic خليجي, DMG Ḫalīǧī , also Khaliji, Khaleeji , or Khalejee ) is a folk music and dance style of the Arabian Peninsula . The music is considered a traditional style of the Gulf region . It is played in Saudi Arabia , Kuwait , the United Arab Emirates , Qatar , Oman and Bahrain . The adjective khaliji means "from the Gulf".

The singing is accompanied by the Arabic lute oud , the single-string fiddle Rababa , the trapeze zither kanun and drums ( tabl ) . It goes back to the old music of the Bedouins .

Abdulmajid Abdullah

The Saudi musician Abdulmadschid Abdullah is considered to be the "father" of modern golf music (عبد المجيد عبد الله, DMG ʿAbdu 'l-Maǧīd ʿAbdu' llāh ). He was born in 1963 in ar-rass . One of his most popular albums is the last album al-Hub al-Jadid aka " (German:" Die neue Liebe ").

Arwa

Arwa (أروى, DMG ʿArwā ) was born and raised in Dubai. Although she is actually from Jordan, she sings Arabic in the Emirati dialect. Her last album "Enta Arefni" was also very popular in the other non-Gulf Arab countries.

al-Wasmi

al-Wasmi is one of the most popular Emirati singers. Due to its "old Arabic" appearance, it became very popular, especially with the young people of the Gulf region. He's little known outside of the Gulf region, but he's a superstar in the Gulf region.
