Champ de la Pierre and Champ Horel
The menhirs Champ de la Pierre and Champ Horel (also called Menhirs du Sel or Les Deux Menhirs) are two menhirs near the commune of Le Sel-de-Bretagne near Rennes in the south of the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in France .
The menhirs are 25 meters apart:
- In the northwest is the smaller, apparently mutilated quartz stone (2.18 m × 1.3 m × 1.2 m).
- In the south-east is the larger, cuboid, made of purple ferrous slate (2.78 m × 2.5 m × 0.98 m).
The ensemble has been classified as a Monument historique since 1945 .
According to legend, the stones were abandoned by the fairies during the construction of La Roche-aux-Fées near Essé.
