NGC 2110 is an elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E / S0 in the constellation Orion at the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 99 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on October 5, 1785 .
