NGC 2104 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBm in the constellation Pictor in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 43 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 25,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 2101 , among others .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on December 27, 1834 .
