NGC 2090 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Dove . The galaxy was discovered on October 29, 1826 by the astronomer James Dunlop with a 9 "telescope; the discovery was later recorded in the New General Catalog .

Various observations were made at NGC 2090 with the Hubble Space Telescope. A series of 13 observations of the peripheral area led to a distance determination based on Cepheids at 12.3 Mpc , which corresponds to a distance of 40 million light years .
