Champa is a city in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh .
The city is part of the Janjgir-Champa district . Champa has municipal council status . The city is divided into 15 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had 45,256 inhabitants, of whom 23,190 were men and 22,066 women . The literacy rate in 2011 was 84.4% and thus above the national average. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of approx. 94%. Muslims form a minority with a share of around 3%.
Champa Station is a hub on the Haora-Nagpur-Mumbai line between Tatanagar and Bilaspur.
