Championship of sire horses in North America

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lexington, 16-time champion of sire horses

The championship for sire horses in North America ( leading sire ) is an annual award for the most successful racehorse father . For each stallion , the winnings of his sons and daughters in the past year are determined. What counts is the prize money that the sons and daughters have won in flat races .

The championship is limited to sires that are set up in North America . It includes profits from North America as well as profits made in the UK , Ireland , France , Italy , Germany and the United Arab Emirates .

Since 2015 the “Leading Sire Lists” published by The Blood-Horse have also included prize money from Hong Kong and Japan .

The list heads Lexington, who has won the title of Leading Sire in North America 16 times.
