Changmin (real name: Shim Chang-min Korean 심창민 ) (born February 18, 1988 in Seoul ) is a South Korean singer, actor and member of the pop duo TVXQ . He appears under the stage name MAX.

Changmin is fluent in Korean and Japanese .

Changmin was born into a Buddhist family. At 14 he was discovered by talent scouts from SM Entertainment . He wasn't interested, but his mother wanted to meet BoA at the auditions . Between 2006 and 2009 he studied postmodern music at Kyung Hee University . In 2011 he graduated from Konkuk University with a degree in film and art . Then he started a master's degree at Inha University .

He did his military service between November 19, 2015 and August 18, 2017 in the South Korean armed forces.

Career

TVXQ first appeared on December 26, 2003. The cast were Changmin, U-Know Yunho, Kim Jae-joong, Park Yoo-chun and Kim Jun-su. Kim Jae-joong, Park Yoo-chun and Kim Jun-su left TVXQ in 2009. In 2010, Changmin and Yunho returned as a duo. In Japan, TVXQ are enjoying great success as a duo.
