SM Entertainment is a South Korean entertainment company, talent agency, and record label. Current top stars marketed by SME include BoA , TVXQ, Super Junior , Girls' Generation , SHINee , f (x) , Exo , Red Velvet , NCT and SuperM
history
SM Entertainment was founded in 1995 by Lee Soo-man . In the beginning "SM" was an abbreviation for the name of the founder, but today it stands for " Star Music ". The company was listed in the KOSDAQ in April 2000 as the first Korean entertainment company . In the first quarter of 2010, SM Entertainment achieved sales of 22.7 billion won . In 2012 SM Entertainment produced the film I Am about the pop stars of their label.
In 2018, SM Entertainment took over the Bae Yong-joons shares in its actor agency KeyEast, thereby acquiring the company.
SMTown World Tour
The agency also organizes annual concerts with all the artists who are under contract with SME.
From 2010 to 2011 the SMTown Live World Tour took place with performances in Seoul , Los Angeles , Tokyo , Paris and other cities.
